TD Fanfic - I'm Sorry... Ch 2

Courtney drew away from the kiss about 30 seconds or so.
"W-what?  I thought we were over..."
"We were over," Duncan pulled Courtney a little closer to himself.  "But then I realized how much I missed your nagging."  He winked, Courtney blushed.
"I love you.  Can you forgive me, Princess?"  
Princess?  Courtney hadn't been called that name in forever.  She realized how much she missed it.  Princess.  The name rang in her head.  Princess.  Courtney thought she was going to cry.  Embarrassed, she looked around.  No one was around.  No one but her and Duncan.  
Then she realized that he asked to be forgiven.
Forgive him?  After everything he's done to me?  After cheating on me with that...that sun-fearing-emo-loving liar!?  How am I supposed to forgive him?!  She felt the rage boiling up inside her.  But...He said he was sorry...Can I really believe him?  Trust him?  She backed away and looked Duncan in the eyes.
"Princess?  What's the matter?"  Duncan.  He genuinely looked upset when Courtney drew away.  Maybe she could forgive him.  Trust him.
"No...It was nothing.  I was just...thinking, I guess..."  Courtney didn't know what to do.  But she gave in.  She had a feeling that maybe they really could work things out.  "Y-yes.  I forgive you...Dunkey."  She smiled up at him.  Duncan pulled her closer again, and kissed her.
This time, Courtney kissed him back and they stayed like that for a good minute or so.
When their makeout session was over, Courtney decided it was time to get things straight.
"Ok...I said I forgive you.  But you have to promise me something.  Never EVER break my heart again.  I don't know if I can forgive you a second time."
"As if I would ever try to," Duncan sighed.  "Not after this.  Look, I said I love you.  Isn't that enough?"
Courtney couldn't believe what she was hearing.  "No that isn't enough!  You have to PROMISE not to break my heart ever again!  Or is that a promise you can't keep?!  You, you Ogre!"
"Ok, ok!  I promise."  There was a long pause.  Duncan laughed.
"What's so funny?"  Courtney demanded.
"Nothing.  I guess I just had a deja vu.  It's like how we first started out."
"You're right,"  Courtney smiled and hugged Duncan.  "I missed that.  I truly do love you."
And all this was happening while Gwen watched from the cabins.
